2006 Art and Automotive Classic Car Show and Fine Art Fair

Our 2006 show was spectacular! It was the first weekend of August at Junction City Shopping Center in Peoria Heights .

We combined awesome show vehicles with world-class fine art. There were over 100 vehicles, including exotics, street rods, classic and original antiques, street machines, and motorcycles.

We invited over 25 artists that hand-painted and drew, took awesome photographs, made jewelry, clothing, novelty gifts, and furniture. All of the artists truly were world-class creators in their artistic medium.

On Friday, August 4, 2006 a lot cruise and art show were held to promote and market our Saturday show, the next day, in which there was a lot of fun and excitement.

Saturday, August 5 was a beautiful day with all kinds of activity; music/musical artists, food, face-painting, entertainment, and much more ! Tommy Sauder the ???? D.J. was in perfect form. Paul Adams played his guitar and sang beautifully, along with selling CD’s of various music. The Burton Blues Band played Friday and Saturday, which had people dancing in the parking lot and on the boardwalk.

On Sunday, August 6 there was a car show and scavenger hunt that started at Junction City and “snaked” through Peoria County for three hours—ending at Dockside Denny’s along the river in Chillicothe , IL . Everyone at Dockside shared stories about the weekend and made new friends while eating BBQ and sipping on cold drinks at this farewell picnic.

Everyone who participated and came to check out this awesome show had a blast! We gave away 26 “best of” awards for both cars and artists. A total of 60 awards were given throughout the weekend’s events—with gifts and give-a-ways for everyone who participated.

Thanks to everyone who made the show a huge success, and for helping out by using their minds and muscle to get this show going and completed. We can’t wait for next year’s Art & Automotive Classic show on August 3, 4, and 5 of 2007 at the Shoppes at Grand Prarie in
Peoria , IL , and we encourage all of you to come!
